One weekend in september we went to Milano to enjoy in italian architecture, food and football
so here are our tips for 5 things to in Milan for one day.
1. DUOMO ROOFTOP
There are around 250 steps to climb to get up to the top of the Milan Cathedral or you can go to the terraces by lift.
This time we choose lift and we bought a Duomo pass A ticket. Here you can chek prices for Duomo and choose what is best option for you.
Once we got up there, there were around 20 (or so) steps to reach the very top of Duomo.
For me the most beautiful part of the top are spires all around. The view and architecture of the rooftop is amazing.
I would say that this is my favorite spot for sightseeing in Milan and if I had a chance to visit only one thing in Milano this would be it.
135 spires rise above the cathedral, like a marble forest and you have a feeling like you are in fairytale castle.
2. DUOMO
It took 582 years to build Milan Cathedral.
It is the largest church in Italy ( St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican is larger) and the third largest in the world.
While the exterior of the cathedral is light, ornate and inspiring, interior is dark but with the most beautiful floor.
Floor in the cathedral was designed by Pellegrino Tibaldi and made in 1584 - 1940.
I adore marble and this floor was made from the white Candoglia marble, Varenna black marble and Arzo red marble.
3. Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and Corso
Milano is also known for Milan fashion week, for amazing fashion brands and for shopping.
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is the world's oldest shopping mall named after Victor Emmanuel II,
the first king of the Kingdom of Italy.
It was designed in 1861 and built by architect Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877.
In Galleria you can shop in high end boutiques or you can go to Corso Vittorio Emanuele II for high steet brands.
Also, in Via Torino you can also find interesting stores for shopping.
For example, I was so happy when I saw Bath&Body works store there since I love their cnadles.
In Milano you can easily spent whole day in shopping or you can inspire yourself with everything beautiful around you.
4. SAN SIRO Stadio Giuseppe Meazza
This time our trip in Milano was also connected with football.
Last time we were on San Siro when we watched Milan and Inter
and this time we were even happier because
Rijeka, football club from our city was playing against Milan. And thatwas amazing.
Last time we took stadio tour so I would suggest that you too so here you can check timetable for stadio tour.
This time we had tickets for 3rd floor and the view from there was amazing.
Usually that is spot for Inter fans and on the another side there were Milan fans.
If you are going in Milan for a football match we would suggest hotel B&B near San Siro
so right after the game you dont have to waist time on traffic.
San Siro view from room, clean and big rooms and great brekfast.
5. FOOD
We love Italian cuisine and this time we were searching for place where we can try pizza in Milano.
I was stroling throught Instagram and heshtags so we quickly found our favorites.
Since we were in Via Torino in the time for lunch we decided to go toRosso Pomodoro and that was so delicious choice.
On the sweet side, Amorino was on our giro di gelato list so finally we tried it.
Wherever you eat in Milano you will be happy and if you want to bring some part of italian cuisine with you can go to Eataly. Buon Appetito
