GUIDE FOR BARCELONA - 10 THINGS TO DO

10 things we did in Barcelona, in summer 2011.

So, with speed train going up to 380 km/h we arrived in Barcelona from Madrid in 3 and a half hours to enjoy in Barcelona.
We bookedSant Angelo hotel after we saw their beuatiful terrace where they serve breakfast.
So we ate brekafast every morning with a Monjuic view and after that we went expoloring beautiful Barcelona.
This is our top 10 thing to do in Barcelona.

1. PARC GUELL
Barcelona without Gaudi wouldn't  be Barcelona that today we know. Saying that, for me the most beautiful parc
with amazing city view is Parc Guell. With urbanization in mind, Eusebi Güell assigned the design of the park to Antoni Gaudí,
a renowned architect and the face of Catalan modernism.
The park was built between 1900 and 1914 and was officially opened as a public park in 1926.
In 1984,UNESCO declared the park a World Heritage Site under “Works of Antoni Gaudí”.
So tell me how amazing are mosaic's benches on the main terrace there? And there you can buy everything with that mosaic design
so your home can look like Parc Guell. Kiki calmed me, luckily. But I'll come there again.

2. Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria
Beautiful makret where you can introduce yorself with all delicious Catelana food.
Paella, all types of tapas and sangria there will become your friends.
You will enjoy eating in Barcelona. Kiki took me to one of my all time favorite restorant that is decorated in Gaudi's style.
Oh and crema catellana we really miss you.

3. SAGRADA FAMILIA
We weren't inside ths amazing Gaudi's building but we admired in all of the details from lovely park outside.
The complection of the spires will make Sagrada Família the tallest church building in the world.
If you are planing to visit Barcelona and you love Gauid(s work you colud love book: Gaudi's key too
so you can take it with you and read it in that  lovely park near Sagrada Familia.
Saying all that,  now I'll talk  about something else, other  than Gaudi but I have to say once again I really love his work.

4. CAMP NOU
Our tradition of stadium tours contuined in Barcelona.
Camp Nou is a home stadium of Barcelona. It's the  largest stadium in Europe we waited to enter, but it was worth it. Expanding the venue’s capacity to a total of 105,000 spectators
—it will be the biggest club stadium in the world. So if you'll go to Barcelona in 2021 you will be able to go to the biggest club stadium in the world. Isn't that just amazing!

5. WALK  PLAZA CATALUNA -  LA RAMBLA -  OCENARIUM -  BARCELONETA
Barri Gotic is my favorite area in Barcelona and you can happily lost there. Or you can take a walk tour.
From beautiful Plaza de Catalunya you can continue your walk all the way to La Rambla where you can enjoy,
take a break while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. or you can see a lots of artists from all over the world.
We took a funny amazing  caricatura potrait together there wchich is now in our living room so every time we look at it
we are smiling and we are on La Rambla again.
La Rambla stretches for 1.2 km connecting Plaça de Catalunya  with the Christopher Columbus Monument at Port Vell.
In Port Vell you can enjoy in Ocenarium, go to Parc de la Ciutadella  or ZOO, shop in Maremagnum center, take a ride with
a cable car or continue you walk all the way to Barceloneta or Platja de Sant Sebastia to enjoy in sand sun and sea.
And yes,  I still dream about you, W Barcelona.

6. CASA MILA/ LA PEDRERA AND CASA BATLO
Here I'm talking about Gaudi again. Casa Mila (La Predrera) and Casa Batlo are his projects too.
Beautiful  Casa Milà is the result of two buildings which are structured around two courtyards that provide light inside.
One of the most notable parts of the building is the roof, crowned with skylights, staircase fans, and chimneys, constructed
out of brick covered with broken marble or glass. Amazing building and so is the view on the top. From there you can see all.

From Casa Mila you can contuniue your  walk in the same area  because 5 minutes by walking  in Passeig de Gracia
is another beautiful building Casa Batlo. Well, the  distance is 5 minutes but this street  is ful of amazing shops, bars and restaurants
so probably you'll need more time to come outside of beautiful Casa Batlo.
Before we went there I read that the roof top of Casa Mila is more beuatiful than Casa Batlo. Beacuse we had to prioritized  our time
we choosed to not get inside and we decided to  leave that for next time.
So we were chilling in one of the beuatiful benches in that street waiting our hop on hop off bus to pick us up for more exlporing time.

7. MONTJUIC
We spent half a day in a beuatuful area of Montjuic and of course we wanted more time there.
From  Placa Espanya  we walked till Palau National on the top from where we enjoyed  beuatiful view.
On Monjuic you can explore  botanical gardens, the olimpic stadium and beuatiful Poble Espanyol
and in the evenenings you can see most popular magic fountains and their light-sound shows.
One night we went to the top of Centre Comercial Arenes de Barcelona and from there the view was beautiful too.
Beautiful Montjuic and what ever you decide you'll enjoy there.

8. JOAN MIRO
On Montjuic there's a fundacio Joan Miro wich I choose of all of the museums in Barcelona.
Picasso is waiting our next time. There are may resaons, but one of them is my  funny embarasing run
in Prado in Madrid to show Kiki one paint that after all it wasn't Juan Miro's picture at all.
I was so exited. Like always I would say, but that time even more.
And when I came in front of that I tryed to say that right pricture  was the one I wanted to show him but
he know me and he knew that from distance I thougt that some mashine was that picture.
And of course he laugh and now every time when we are in museums we laugh at that episode
and he is  showing me all the mashines there.

9. TIBIDABO
There are a lot beautiful spots for views of Barcelona and the most beautiful panoramic view of Barcelona in on TIbidabo.
First we took a bus, than a mini train and than funicular and we had lucky with time so finally we managed to climb at Tibidabo.
Beside amazing chill time and view there is beautiful Cathedral del Sagrat Cor and amusement park and it's great spot
for cheers to your time in Barcelona with a glass of Cava, sparkling wine from this area.
Or you can buy it for home so when you'll miss Barcelona you can open that bottle and cheers to  one of that amazing days.

10. FIGUERES
Our favorite trip from Barcelona was trip to Figueres where  is Salvador Dali's museum.
I'll never forget how Kiki was sweet and funny standing in front of the Dalí painting Gala Contemplating the Mediterranean Sea
which at a distance of 20 meters is transformed into theportrait of Abraham Lincoln (Homage to Rothko).

___________________________________________________________________________

This is our list of things we did in Barcelona for the first time and here are our ideas for next
time when we imagine to connect Barcelona with some amazing vacation places.

1. MALLORCA AND MENORCA
Mallorca is s at our vacation bucket list for some time and for Menorca I must convese we didn't know at all
untill Kiki was at one of business seminars when he met one of colleges that was fromMenorca. And he talked to him how Menorca is beautiful.
So when Kiki was back in Rijeka that same night we googled Menorca and we were amazied how beautiful that secret place is.

2. IBIZA  AND FORMENTERA
I don't have to talk about Ibiza, we all probaby have our first associations. But, big but that's a famous for family vacation too.
In Croatia we have a Pag, wich is also place for parties in Zrće and family vacation in Stara Novalja for example.
Formenterais maybe the place that's still less unknown and yes, it's on our vacation bucket list too.
We imagine to see that beaches and clear sea inlive.

3. VALENCIA
It woud be amazing to spent some days in Barcelona and some days in Valencia
– beautiful citty that is historical and modern at the same time, place where paella was born
